Each of our instructors brings their own unique energy into the studio. Casey Zipp, Director of Community, RYT 200
Casey discovered yoga her first year of college and had no idea the impact if would make on her life. From the very beginning, yoga to her has been a time to reflect on her journey, de-stress, and unwind. The yoga lifestyle quickly became part of her everyday routine so she decided to expand her practice by taking Yoga Teacher Training at the Amrit Yoga Institute. Here, she studied under Yogi Amrit Desai, one of the original Yoga Masters that brought yoga to the west from India. Yoga completely changed her life and she hopes to give others the tools to transfer their own. After all, "if it doesn't change your life, it's not yoga." - Yogi Amrit Desai
Soleyah Brittan, CYT 200
Soleyah is a Kansas native by birth, but a city girl at heart. First experiencing yoga while living in Chicago, she moved back to Kansas in 2009 and decided to dive deeper into the practice. Soleyah received her 200hr certification from Alexandria Crow in 2015. Upon graduation, she became a full-time yoga teacher, opening a studio in Abilene, KS. She has completed trainings with Kathryn Budig, Shiva Rea, Carole Westerman, and Amy Ippoliti. She continues an ongoing mentorship with her teacher, Alex Crow. Soleyah is well versed in yoga for beginners and strives to make yoga accessible for students of all ages, shapes, sizes and backgrounds. Her style of teaching is slow and mindful, yet physically and mentally challenging. Soleyah is Level 1-2 Reiki Certified and her other passions include nutrition & holistic wellness. She also moonlights as a bartender, because she firmly believes life is all about balance!
Keleigh Schettler, Spin Certified
Keleigh has lived in Manhattan, KS for the past 9 years and enjoys getting to know the diverse community that the Little Apple provides. One way that Keleigh gets to know locals and out-of-staters alike is by teaching her Schwinn Certified Spin classes throughout the week and the occasional Spin and Core class to get those abs burning! Keleigh’s style of teaching is about doing what is most comfortable for you while also challenging yourself by vigorous and engaging cycling classes. As someone who teaches through forever learning, Keleigh is constantly switching up her classes with interval training, hill climbs, activities, and sprints to keep spinners interested and developing through her classes. Keleigh’s personal life is a lot like her classes: intervals, hills, activities, and sprints! But keeping busy is what she does best. Keleigh has two dogs, two cats, five fish, and a husband to, when she finally decides to, relax with. If you are interested in an intense, yet fun, cycling class, feel free to stop by on Keleigh’s teaching days and she will deliver!
Brooke Garcia, CYT 200
Brooke fell in love with yoga over a decade ago. Through the years, she has acquired yoga certifications and additional training with Troy McPeak, Jessa Voos, Chelsey Korus, Mary Beth LaRue and Alexandria Crow. She completed her first 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training on the Big Island of Hawaii in November 2014 through PeakBeings. Just recently, she completed an additional 200-hour training with Konza School of Movement in June 2019. Brooke remains
committed to evolving as an instructor, and has taught over 2000 classes. She believes that yoga is the passage way into understanding your body at a deeper level, and she will challenge you to tune into the individual movements, breath, and pureness of the yoga practice.
Jamie Lull, Spin & Barre Certified
Regardless of whether it’s in the studio, classroom or home; Jamie loves to bring people together and watch them succeed. She has channeled this passion into the Barre & Spin programs at OSY where she provides a fun atmosphere where personal goals are achieved. Jamie is a Kansas-girl (by way of the West Coast) and has a Master Degree in Social Work from UMKC. Her fitness journey began in high school where she ran track & field and continued as a competitive runner throughout most of her adulthood. Years of running had created injuries that forced her to rethink her fitness goals. This ultimately led her to Orange Sky Yoga.Always up for trying new things, she began taking barre and fell in love with the upbeat, ever-changing dynamics. She became a certified Barre Intensity instructor in February of 2019 and completed the Schwinn Indoor Cycling certification later that same year. When not in the studio, she is chasing her three boys around Manhattan. Jamie would love it if you stopped by one of her classes. She will keep you on your toes with upbeat music and energetic workouts.
Sarah Killian, Spin Certified
Sarah is a multi-tasking mother of two young boys. Raising them, teaching spin, gardening, photoraphy, and traveling are her passions. She has been at the studio since it opened and her classes are filled with gangster rap and lots of laughs.
Alex Whitworth, Spin Certified
Holly Pate, Spin & Barre Certified
Holly moved from the Big Apple to the Little Apple last year. She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Mass Communications at Kansas State University and teaches barre and spin at Orange Sky. Holly has taught barre for over three years, a practicing student for many years prior, and was excited to gain her Schwinn Spin certification last March. Her passion for group fitness stems from her love of making fitness accessible & challenging for all levels, and most importantly - fun!
Catlin Denis, RYT 200
Catlin is new to Kansas as of June 2019. His hometown is within the Adirondacks of upstate New York, here he began his Yoga practice with some casual Bikram. After moving to South Carolina for a job with Veterans Affairs, he stumbled into a hot vinyasa flow class for the first time, seeking connection and to meet people. Catlin completed his 200-hour (RYT200) teacher training with Allison (Lindquist) Cross, a Disciple to Paramahansa Yogananda and creator of Hot Yatra Yoga, at The Yatra Center '90 Degree Yoga' in Greenville, South Carolina. Catlin's classes remain true to the Yatra style of teaching with message, mantra music, and meditative vibe. Outside the studio, Catlin works as a mental health therapist full time specializing in addiction, trauma, and insomnia. He spends all of his money on random hippie merch, tattoos, and backpacking to random countries. "Yoga isn't about postures, it's about the real you."
RJ Youngblood , Spin Certified
RJ moved from sunny Florida to Manhattan in 2014 to work for Kansas State University. Even though she freezes during the winter months, living in Manhattan has provided beautiful friendships and community. RJ’s fitness journey began as a competitive swimmer, and she has pursued the sport of triathlon in her adult life – even qualifying and competing in the Ironman 70.3 World Championships. She is passionate about living an active lifestyle through cycling and is a member of the #bikemhk campaign which aims to educate, celebrate, and advocate for safe cycling in mhk. RJ's classes are challenge by choice combined with well-being through reflection. She’ll create a supportive environment to learn technique, provide encouragement to find your new best, and facilitate high energy workouts to discover how fun your spin journey can be. She is pursuing a Schwinn certification in the winter of 2017. You can always spot her riding around town on her bike, so stop her and ask about how to begin spin!
Dana Knight, CYT 200 & Barre Certified
Dana has been teaching fitness classes for 10 years and has certifications in Pilates, Barre and Yoga. As a Barre Intensity certified teacher, you'll leave her total body class feeling strong and accomplished. She completed her YogaWorks 200-hour teacher training under Jessa Voos in 2017, and started teaching at OSY shortly thereafter. Dana incorporates anatomy and proper alignment in her teaching, as well as the benefits of mindfulness and meditation. She believes yoga is a journey that can be both physically and mentally healing.
Steve LaRocque, Spin Certified
Steve has been a Kansas native his entire life, growing up on a farm in North Central Kansas. His loves are his family, nature, science, and acting. Steve began taking spin classes a few years ago and completed his Schwinn Indoor Cycling Certification in March of 2019. Steve really enjoys finding the beat of the music to move him and his class on a fun, athletic ride. New to spin? Seasoned spinner? Come as you are! Steve will make you sweat and have a good time while you do it!
Emily Stilwell, CYT 200
Emily is a singer-songwriter and has been a lover of music since the age of 6. Raised in rural Georgia, she lived a fairly inactive lifestyle until age 18 when a massage therapist diagnosed her with “horrendous posture,” it was then that she decided a change needed to happen and came to yoga. Having always been a strong feeler it was a refreshing difference to be in a fitness environment where you are tuning in and listening so intently to your breath and the sensations in your body. Deciding she’d discovered a second passion, Emily attended her first 200hr Hatha Yoga Teacher Training in Dharamsala, India in 2018, immersing herself in the culture and lifestyle of a yogi and that very same year came to Manhattan, KS with her military partner, Danny. Emily completed a second 200hr Teacher Training through Konza School of Movement, has discovered a new love of strength training and enjoys offering a strong and safe practice of yoga to her students as well as a cozy Gentle Flow when your body and mind needs it. She enjoys the freedom of yoga and the idea that she could present change into the lives of others in the same way that yoga has so positively influenced her own; both in their bodies and in the ways that they think and feel about themselves.
Shelby Herndon, CYT 200 & Spin Certified
Shelby is a small town Kansas native and currently planting her roots in Manhattan, KS. Her certifications include the 200HR Yoga training through Konza School of Movement, Schwinn cycling certification, and she also works full time as a Physical Therapist Assistant in Manhattan. She will create a safe and motivational environment for each class you attend!
Gabrielle Viddivo, CYT 200
Gabrielle received her 200 hour Vinyasa yoga certification while traveling Australia in 2016. After a year of exploring herself and her personal practice, it took her to Judith Hanson Lasaters Restorative yoga training as well as Erin Telfords Level 1 Breathwork Healer training. She enjoys combining light vinyasa, hatha, yin, and restorative for gentler insights. During her classes she weaves in intention, breathwork, and meditation. Her classes are about slowing down, re-connecting and embodying the postures through alignment as well as intuition. She is also a breathwork healer, workshop curator, and Young Living Essential Oil mentor + leader.
