FAQs

I’m a new student, do I need to preregister?

Nope! Simply show up a few minutes before class and we will get you all signed up and ready to go. Certain workshops or special events might require registration and if so, that will be noted on the event.

Do you have to purchase a membership to practice at OSY?

No. You can purchase classes individually or as a package.

Do I need to bring a yoga mat?

It is recommended to bring your own mat for Yoga and Barre classes, however we do have studio loaner mats for a $2 rental fee.

I’ve never done yoga before. Which classes do you recommend for beginners

All of our classes are accessible for beginners, but we recommend one of our Gentle Flow or Restore & Renew classes.

What type of clothing should I wear to class?

Comfortable, breathable clothing that you can move in. No shoes in the studio.

What else do I need to bring to class?

Any other specialty props or items you might need for your practice. We have blocks, blankets, straps and bolsters in the studio for your use.

What should I wear to a spin class?

General athletic wear is great! In addition, tennis shoes are required. If you prefer to use shoes with cycling clips on them, Orange Sky bikes use SPD shoe clips.

What should I bring to spin class?

You are encouraged to bring lots of water; you will sweat! Other than that, bring yourself and appropriate clothing. For Spin + Core classes, you are encouraged to bring a yoga mat if you have one.

Do I need a towel?

No! We offer dry towels, as well as cool lavender scented towels to our patrons.

What certifications do your spin instructors hold?

All of our spin instructors are Schwinn certified.

What type of stationary bikes are used in Orange Sky’s spin classes?

We use LeMond RevMaster Pro stationary bikes. We tune them regularly for precision during our spin classes.

What is Spin + Core?

Depending on your instructor, Spin + Core will be either a 30 or 45 minute spin session followed by a 15 minute core session. Yoga mats are provided for the core portion of the class if you don’t have your own.

What should I expect from spin class?

While classes vary depending on your instructor, they all utilize high intensity aerobic and anaerobic exercise to get your heart pumping and metabolism running. You will come to class with the bikes in position; you will need to set up for your bike to your height, so please consult an instructor for proper fit or, if you are comfortable with stationary bikes, set up the bike for your comfort and performance level. Towels are offered before the beginning of class. Classes will start with a brief warm up and then build in intensity. Classes end with a cool down and stretching period to minimize muscle cramps. After class is over, you will clean your bike with a spray bottle and rag and then you are welcome to check out Orange Sky’s merchandise, class packages, or chat with the instructors!
